The European Wave Energy Thematic Network was established under the auspices of the European Commission's Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development Programme. One of the Network's key objectives is to publicise the activities and dynamism of the Wave Energy research and development community and to raise the profile of Wave Energy as an economically viable green energy source.
